Nauru 1995. This island state is not just one of the smallest nations in the world, but it's also one of the most peculiar. About 90% of the island have been more or less ruined because they have been digging for phosphate through many years. The phosphate have given people a lot of money, but because their are practically no agriculture most people eat nothing but imported junkfood. The health situation is critical and a lot of the people are diabetics. I were here for days during a roundtrip among the pacific nations.
