| Guinea Bissau 1996. On my way to the capital Bissau I had to pass this river. The ferry was - as you can see - out in the river and broken down. Actually it has been lying their for a couple of month, så instead people were taken over by small boats. Just before I arrived, a boat had turned around and some people had drowned. For me it just ment a few hours delay, but that was just one out of quit a few traumatic experiences, I had juring the four days I visited this very poor country in West Africa. |
