| Faroe Islands 1984. I
was around France before I went to Faroe Islands (via Great Britain and
Shetland Islands), and in France I lost my camera, so I've got no
pictures from the Faroes. I stayed for free in
Thorshavn at the property of a very colourful man by the name of Sjurdur Johnsen. He
was a subscriber of a fanzine that I published at that time, so I just
deliverede the last edition right at his home (and earned myself some
free overnights....) The picture shows the frontpage of a book which Sjurdur have edited (with the support of Nordurlandaradnum...). It's a saga and it seems that Sjurdur have translated it from Icelandic. I also visited Bordø and a few other islands. I took a wrong turn, lost my way and was close to falling down the cliffs while I was walking over Bordø. But I happened to reach a road and was taken up by a taxi that brought me safely through the narrow tunnels back to Klaksvig (where I had rented a room). I stayed on the islands for about one week. |
